Your DNP practice hours and scholarly project happen where you live, inside your state's own health systems and public-health infrastructure. Pick your state to see where doctoral students run projects, who serves as a project mentor, and how we secure the sites and preceptors your program will approve.
Yes. We source project sites, project mentors, and clinical preceptors in all 50 states, for students at any university. Each state page covers where doctoral projects happen there and how we shepherd approval. See DNP clinical hours for the hour picture.
The DNP adds a scholarly project on top of the post-baccalaureate practice hours, so we place two things: a project site with a qualified project mentor, and, when the track requires it, clinical preceptors for direct-care hours. See how programs compare on our DNP by school guide.
The AACN sets a floor of at least 1,000 supervised practice hours post-baccalaureate, and totals vary by program. We place to your program's exact requirement rather than a fixed number. Confirm your total with your school.
